This program is the heartbeat of Africa Unite’s mission to build peaceful, integrated communities. It addresses the root causes of conflict by educating both locals and migrants on their shared constitutional rights, helping to dissolve the “us vs. them” mentality.

Operating under the motto “My School is My Community,” this program treats the school environment as a “mini-country” to give learners a practical education in governance and democracy.
Named after the Xhosa word for “Brave Warriors,” this program provides a vital safety net for children in townships like Nyanga and Gugulethu who have been orphaned or affected by HIV/AIDS and violence.

To be able to work with you all, knowing every day when I am heading to the office that I will laugh, be intrigued with challenges and perspectives that I have never had to deal with before, and feel like I am taking part in something so special and important such as the work that we are doing at Africa Unite has been truly such a special experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
I want to thank everyone here at Africa Unite for making this such an impactful experience. The work you are all doing is quite inspiring, and I have learned so much from you all. I hope I get the opportunity to come back and work with such an amazing group of people
